SCULPTURAL FLOW…

with our Herkimer Goddess Design, an alternative bridal look.

Nathan brought to me a stunning layered gown of cascading shredded satin which formed the initial basis of our collaboration. This raw contemporary alternative bridal Goddess garment was named the ‘Herkimer Dress’ after a day Nathan spent with me in my studio.

Sketch book and pencil in hand, Herkimer diamond quartzes a plenty, pyrite crystals small and large, a broken golden rutile gem and drift wood sticks, we started designing together.

With twists and turns of textured silver, beaten brass and talks of kinetic sculptural flow over many cups of tea, our concept jewellery pieces evolved. It was the Herkimer Dress and Nathan’s passion that greatly inspired the three pieces of sculptural jewellery featured here in the form of an upper arm cuff, crown and statement drops.

The creative collaborative result was this beautiful yet powerful Goddess look shot by our amazing Fine Art and Wedding Photographer friend Oxana Mazur for a recent styled shoot curated by the wildy talented Alicia Flower Designer and Joanna Kieliszczyk-Clay, Cake Artist and owner of The Orchid Kitchen at The Mount Without venue in the heart of Bristol city.

WAITING IN THE WINGS…

A Ballerina Queen, born from a vision of  The Orchid Kitchen.

From his new ‘Nervous System’ Collection, yet to be released, Nathan also brought to me a beautiful mottled ballerina dress of rain and leaf printed silk, tattered textured ruffs, and heavy pleated cotton textile.

This dress had been specifically designed as part of a collaboration with Cake Artist Joanna of The Orchid Kitchen for her vision of

“a magical fusion of ballet-inspired elegance and the raw beauty of nature”.

This in turn inspired my layered Winged Crown – an experimental sculptural headpiece with spiraling wire, made within a crazy 12hr focused workshop session from roll printed textured silver and brass complete with an oxidised Pyrite Cage Pendant, Angular Drop Earrings and free-form included Quartz Ring.

It was such a joy to see how our art jewellery and fashion design collaboration formed part of the really exciting alternative wedding collective vision that all came to fruition so effortlessly at the epic Mount Without shoot, thanks to a fantastic team of creative industry professionals!

THE SL-ATE CONCEPT STORE…

Bridgewater, Somerset.

Nathan has recently opened his SL – ATE Concept Store in Bridgewater this June 2024. It’s an incredibly exciting space with a carefully curated selection of super interesting and emerging Designer Makers in a variety of mediums to include yours truly.

After browsing and shopping the bespoke wearable art, designer lifestyle and homeware items, you can relax in Nathan’s contemporary creative space with a coffee and pastry… sounds like my idea of heaven!

I am showcasing our collaborative pieces of Wearable Art there and will also be exhibiting with Nathan there alongside Oxana Mazur as part of the Somerset Art Weeks Festival in September. The space also offers Artist Workshops so you can come and make perfume, hand throw a pot and of course make fantastic recycled silver ingot jewellery with me… Don’t take your eyes of this space!
