10 WEEK SILVER JEWELLERY EVENING COURSE

The Polishing Room, Flaxdrayton Farm, South Petherton TA13 5LR

2hrs every Tuesday evening from 22nd Sept – 8th Dec 2020, 7-9pm.

Suitable for beginners and those who wish to expand on their silver jewellery skills. You can expect to learn traditional silver fabrication skills which will include stone setting so that you can then design and make your own piece/s, or complete any unfinished projects as the course progresses.

The course breaks for two weeks over the Autumn half term.

ONE DAY WEDDING / CIVIL PARTNERSHIP RING COURSE

Design & make them together

You choose the date, 10am-5pm.

What better way to start life’s journey together than to design and make your own wedding or civil partnership rings from recycled silver, Fairtrade gold or a combination of both, including reworking your family heirloom pieces!

You do not need experience as you will both be guided every step of the way on this unique and creative one-day course. Run by myself, from my professional yet welcoming silver studio in the heart of rural Somerset.

The outcome will be two beautiful rings, full of love and meaning that you’ll both be proud to wear forever, plus great memories of a fantastic day.

SILVER CUTTLEFISH  CASTING WORKSHOP

The Polishing Room, Flaxdrayton Farm, South Petherton TA13 5LR

Saturday 24th October 2020 @ 10am – 1pm  OR  2.30 – 5.30pm.

A fun and immersive 3 hour workshop designed for beginners at either 10am-1pm  or  2.30pm-5.30pm with Julia and guest teacher Rebecca Prosser. You will get to experiment with hand carving a unique design of your choice in the medium of cuttlefish bone, to then be guided through the casting process using recycled silver scrap.

Leave with a handmade piece of ethical precious metal designer jewellery that you’ve made using this age old sustainable technique!

£80.00 + materials

Naomi’s brilliant Medieval horse brass cast. The black horse brass above is what she pressed into the bone, and the silver one below is the outcome of the casting. Check out the charred remains!

 ROUND SILVER PILL BOX WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Suitable for those with some experience who have already attended at least one 10 week evening class. You can expect to expand on your traditional silver fabrication skills which will include advanced soldering, precision hand piercing, forming, fitting, polishing and stone setting.

Leave with new skills and a completed handcrafted round silver pill box with a lift off decorative lid!

Spaces are limited to a maximum of 4 people.

£300.00 – to inc the silver  (gemstones are an optional extra)

SAFETY IN THE WORKSHOP:

Taking on board current guidance from the Government and WHO, there are now some additional safety measures within the workshop.

  • We politely request that all attendees wear face masks or face shield visors* during classes. Teachers will be wearing visors throughout, making it easier for students to understand instructions.
  • We are operating smaller group sizes to ensure classes can keep a safe distance at all times.
  • Hand sanitiser will be readily available. You will be asked to use this on arrival and to reapply regularly, especially when handling tools. You are welcome to bring gloves as a further precaution.
  • Tools and the workshop will be cleaned in between classes.
  • A one way system will be in place to avoid congestion.

We ask kindly that you do not attend a class if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19, and to inform us by phone or email 24hrs in advance if possible.

Those returning from holiday destinations with a strict quarantine regulation in place are advised not to attend any classes until your quarantine period is complete. We regret to inform you that if this is the case and you miss classes, refunds are not applicable.

For those booked onto courses and workshops, your contact information will be stored securely under GDPR regulations. This information will be used to contact you should anyone within the workshop / course group display symptoms of Covid-19.
